My name is

& I'm so glad you're here

Professionally?

I am a trauma-informed transition guide bringing together my experience as a death doula, meditation teacher & nature-based recreation therapy provider to help you recreate your relationship with being human.

My passion is to be a catalyst for care.

I believe that contemplating, navigating and preparing for our death, especially before we have to, is how we live more fully and one of the greatest ways we can care ~ for ourselves, our loved ones and the world.

You might be wondering... what does a Death Doula actually "do"?

We are companions providing personalised support in the contemplation, preparation and navigation of death, dying, loss and mortality.

(We do not offer medical, legal or financial advice).

And you may be surprised to hear this...

But people who work in death care are usually the greatest lovers of life.

I happen to be one of them.

I want to help people live fully, honestly & without regret.

I want to help people die well with clarity, calm & care.

I believe that's possible when we explore it ~ by choice.

So what does that actually mean?

It means I am the safe space for you to explore all of it.

I'm not going to help you "get over" or "move on" or "be fearless".

Whether it's around your own death or the death of someone else.

I'm here to help you find comfort in the discomfort of this part of life.

Together we can contemplate, navigate & prepare for death.

Help you create a relationship with it that's meaningful for you.

And discover what's possible in your life when you do.

We work together to find relief, build resilience & discover renewal

~ no matter where you are with death, dying, loss or mortality.

We can meet online, in your home, the hospice or the hospital.

Or out hiking a local trail, walking the beach or paddling the lake.

I offer invitations that create space to see death differently and prepare ~ mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, relationally & practically.

We won't just be talking about death.

We will also be exploring, breathing, meditating, moving, envisioning, drawing, planning, imagining, creating, organising... the list goes on.

And as you prepare for death, I welcome you to be surprised with how inspiring it can be for what is left of your life.

Death changes everything ~ what happens when we let  it?

This is not about turning grieving or dying into productivity.

It is about finding your unique way of integrating your death in your life,

so it inspires what's left of your time and how you both live & leave it.

Personally? â€‹

Death has shaped and reshaped my life... I've learned to let it.

I've spent over three decades navigating death and death-related transitions of all different kinds ~ by myself and alongside others.

In my twenties ~ death pushed me outward into the world to "do" it all.

Start businesses, sail oceans, climb mountains, move countries...

creating positive impact on a global scale.

In my thirties ~ death called me back inward to "be" more myself.

To live more slowly, intentionally & meaningfully...

creating positive impact on a more personal scale.

It was when I faced my own potential life threatening diagnosis while providing end-of-life care for my grandmother, that I truly realised how powerful preparing for death, especially before we have to, can be.

And that our legacy can be lived each day while we are here.

Whether it's big, small or somewhere in between.

My professional approach is deeply connected with my personal experience.

Death has continually pulled focus for me on what it is to be alive.

It's become a mentor for living more meaningfully while I'm here.

As well as a guide for how to live a life that will eventually ease my death.

My unique combination of certifications & lived experience means I bring my own blend of support, understanding and a solid sense of respectful humour to anyone navigating the weird, wild, wonder-filled landscape of life and  death.

You might be thinking...

"How is she just talking about death so easily, I can't even look at it"

I've been there.

I may be a professional death worker...

But I'm also a grieving human being too.

I've grieved to the point of having sleepless nights & being unable to work.

I've lost people I couldn't imagine living without & sometimes almost didn't.

I've lost loved ones suddenly ~ to suicide, accidents & hidden health issues.

I've lost loved ones slowly ~ to disease, dementia & natural deterioration.

I've almost lost loved ones ~ through diagnosis & near-death experience.

I've been a primary & palliative caregiver over almost two decades.

I've been present for the last breath of others & faced my own mortality too.

I'm not going to promise it gets easier, but it can become different.

Every time I've experienced death ~ I've seen it as an invitation to recreate my life.

That's how, through death, this business was born.

I've experienced a lot & so have you.

You can't shock, scare or surprise me.
But you can navigate life & death with me.

Still not sure I'm for you?
Get to know me better...

Sometimes we just need somewhere to start that's

free & easy

When circumstances are changing quickly, everything is a bit much or you're overwhelmed with taking your first step toward your mortality ~ it can be hard to choose how to move toward doing something (or anything) about it.

And finding the right person to work with is like choosing underwear ~ they need to fit just right because they are going to be privy to all you usually keep private.

Below you'll find offerings designed to make that initial 'something' a bit easier. These invitations to interact with me will not only help you to get to know me better but they are also representative of how I am a living and dying example of my approach ~ The Death Compass ~ in practice.

I've recreated my life around my death ~ living the legacy of what I want to leave.

Whether it's conversation, meditation, recreation or donation...

there's something here for you to try & see if I'm your cup of tea.
