Hello & Welcome to...

MEDITATION

Figure_White_Tilde.png

Let's explore together...

Taking the time to learn how to breathe & to 'be'

meditative & mindful...

These practices are designed to help you mythbust meditation & mindfulness so you can recreate your relationship with being human every day. Undeniably, our breath is the best natural tool we have to regulate our nervous system, return to the present moment, remember we are human "beings" rather than human "doings" and to rediscover how to navigate living, and dying, mindfully.

MEET YOUR GUIDE ON THE SIDE

What does it mean to live & die with mindful mortality?

Hello & Welcome to Re~Creation Meditation.

My name is Jen & I'm so glad you're here.

The question above is really about how we approach being human...

Possibly my favourite topic.

My own answer?

As with all things, it has changed over time.

And will likely continue to do so.

But as of this moment?

When I talk about mindful mortality, it's about being aware that one day... I too will die. And instead of living with that as a fact to avoid, I am consciously making it a guiding force for what's possible with this life that I'm living.

It means continually being a student of life, and death, present with the inevitability of it but not ruled by it. To be human is to experience the full spectrum of emotions, diverse circumstances, the realities of being alive in a body and navigating a life that will one day cease to exist as I know it.

My practices are inspired by my own experiences of facing my mortality, walking alongside those who are & also navigating all the little deaths and transitions we experience along the way in life.

I like to mythbust meditation so we can move beyond the 'my mind is too busy to meditate' idea and truly start exploring the breadth, depth & opportunities available when we embrace this ancient yet ever evolving practice.

And just that word itself ~ practice ~ is vital to note here. I don't treat meditation as something to "master" or as a "one and done" effort each day. It is about instead cultivating a practice of inviting curiosity into your experience ~ inside and out ~ day to day and moment to moment.

It's about discovering how your brain, breath and body are your natural tools for navigating your life, and yes, your eventual death, mindfully. Finding relief, building resilience and discovering renewal when it arises both in a dedicated practice, and in the continual practice that is being human.

As always, I am constantly learning and intend to do so until the day I die. It is an honour to share what I discover and create here, as well as to be a guide on the side for your own journey with meditation, mindfulness & mortality.
